PoFolks Employee Throws Hot Oil On 2 Coworkers: St. Pete Police

A PoFolks employee faces charges after throwing hot oil on two coworkers during an argument in the kitchen, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A PoFolks employee faces charges after throwing hot oil on two coworkers during an argument in the kitchen Tuesday night, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

Ocassio Cubby, 53, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

He sprayed the hot grease on his coworkers — a man and a woman — at the PoFolks restaurant at 2001 34th Street N. around 7:30 p.m., police said.

The victims were brought to the Tampa General Hospital burn unit for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The case remains under investigation, SPPD said.
