Rains Playing Havoc With High School Baseball Tournaments

Officials of local high school baseball tournaments are scrambling to try to reschedule games due to the heavy rains Thursday.

The heavy rains that have pelted Pinellas County have done a number on area high school baseball teams playing in local baseball tournaments.

Shorecrest Prep had its game against Pendleton School at the IMG Baseball Academy at Seminole's Georgiadis Memorial tournament postponed until Friday at 4 p.m. Pendleton

At the Northeast tournament, Lakewood and Osceola were to play the championship game today at 6 p.m., the only game on the docket. As of midday, the prospect of that game being played as schedules looks slim at best.

At the Dunedin tournament, St. Petersburg is scheduled to play Tarpon Springs at 8 p.m. tonight at the Englebert Complex in Dunedin. Though likely, that game has yet to be called.
