ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Tampa Bay Rays made history Thursday with its 9-3 win over the Boston Red Sox.

The Rays have tallied a 13-0 winning streak since the March 30 opener against the Detroit Tigers, tying the Major League Baseball record for the number of consecutive games won since the start of the season.

The 1987 Milwaukee Brewers and the 1982 Atlanta Braves both saw 13 wins in a road after kicking off the season.

“The Rays are still on pace to go 162-0,” MLB tweeted.

“We’re not superstitious…but these might be the only Sox we clean today,” Tampa Bay wrote in an Instagram post.

The team also posted, “If you’re gonna play ‘em, might as well win ‘em.”

The Rays next take on the Blue Jays Friday in Toronto.
