Real-Life Elf On Shelf Surprises Shoppers At Target

Shane Moore said his goal is to show people that a positive attitude can overcome any challenges people face.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man is hoping to inspire and entertain with a series of holiday photos featuring a real-life Elf on the Shelf.

On Christmas Eve, actor and comedian Shane Moore, 28, of St. Petersburg, who is 3 feet 5 inches tall, dressed as an elf and inserted himself in the holiday displays at the Target at Gateway Market Center in St. Petersburg, surprising last-minute shoppers.

In addition to creating "smiles and laughs," the photo shoot was intended to draw attention to the inspirational messages and humorous Youtube videos on his Facebook page titled Moore Motivation and his Instagram page.

Moore said his goal is to show people that a positive attitude can overcome any challenges people face.

"I was born with Type 4 Osteogenesis imperfecta, commonly known as brittle bones or OI," he said.

Moore said his childhood consisted of a series of hospital stays encased in body casts due to broken bones.

"I was told that I would never be able to walk again but here I am, walking better than ever through my own determination," he said. "I've defied all odds and am now living life to the fullest."

In addition to spreading inspirational messages, Moore is encouraging others to share their stories of triumph on Moore Motivation.
