Ringside Café Reopening in New Downtown St. Pete Location

After losing its lease at its previous downtown St. Petersburg location and closing at the end of January, Ringside Café has found a new home.

The popular live music venue shared on its Facebook page that it will reopen at 350 1st Ave. N., across from Williams Park, later this summer.

"We'll be back up and running before you know it," Ringside posted at the end of June.

New Kava, Kratom Bar Coming to 49th Street S.

Teaki Tavern Kava, Tea & Juices will officially open Aug. 19 at 530 49th Street S., though its soft opening already happened Saturday.

In addition to kava, kratom, juices and herbal teas, Teaki Tavern will also offer vegan snacks, according to The Gabber.

“I want this to be a place where people can come socialize in a healthy, uplifting environment,” owner Adrienne Martinez said.

Lingr Launches Dim Sum Sunday Brunch

Lingr, a Nordic- and Asian-inspired restaurant, is introducing a new dim sum Sunday brunch, which launches Sunday.

The special dim sum menu will be available from noon to 2:30 p.m., the restaurant shared on social media.

Reservations are available at the Lingr website, but the restaurant also posted that “walk-ins are always welcome.”

RockHouse Live International to Open Downtown St. Pete Location

A hybrid live and virtual entertainment-themed restaurant and venue is expanding into St. Petersburg.

RockHouse Live International will open its newest location downtown, according to a news release, though an exact address wasn't provided.

The concept already has five other locations, including two in Florida — one the Clearwater Beach flagship location at 207 Coronado Drive and the other in Key West — as well as two venues in Memphis, Tennessee and one in Oxford, Mississippi.

Italian Market Opening in Pinellas Park

DeCosmo Italian Market, specializing in imported Italian goods and fresh pasta and pastries, will open in Pinellas Park at 6832 49th St. N.

The grocery store will also have a café where shoppers can grab a sandwich, prepared meal or coffee, as well as a well-stocked wine cellar, according to I Love the Burg.

While metro areas like New York City and high-profile wine-growing regions like Napa tend to get all the attention, oenophiles should not overlook Tampa-St. Petersburg area fine-dining spots with great wine selections.

Wine Spectator unveiled the 2022 Restaurant Awards winners, which honor the world's best restaurants for wines. This year's awards program recognized 3,169 dining destinations from all 50 states and in more than 70 countries worldwide.

In the Tampa metro, 24 restaurants earned recognition. Since 1981, the Restaurant Awards have had three distinct levels: The "Award of Excellence," the "Best of Award of Excellence" and the "Grand Award."
