Saturday Morning Market Returns Oct. 4

The event is celebrating its 13th season in St. Petersburg.

Autumn in St. Petersburg might not mean falling leaves, but it does signal the return of the Saturday Morning Market.

The annual event enters its 13th season when it returns Oct. 4. The market is staged every Saturday from October through May at the Al Lang Field parking lot on the corner of 1st Avenue South and 1st Street. The weekly sale is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year an estimated 200 vendors are expected to make appearances, rotating through 130 different spaces.

To make the grand opening special, the Urban Gypsies are lined up to perform in the center of the market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Each week, shoppers can browse for fresh fruits and vegetables, loaves of rustic bread, gourmet-prepared foods, specialty foods, herbs, plants, hand crafted gifts and much more,” an email from the city said. “Live music every week adds an upbeat tone to the market atmosphere.”
