Update: Body Recovered from Harshaw Lake

The man, whose car was found submerged, had not been seen by his family since Monday night.

Update Jan. 13 11:31 a.m.: The body of Larry Nicholas of New York has been recovered from Harshaw Lake, The Tampa Tribune is reporting. He was found about 25 feet from shore, the paper reported.

St. Petersburg Fire Department dive team members are continuing a search of Harshaw Lake following the Monday night discovery of a submerged Jaguar.

The police department received a call about a car that had gone into the lake around 6:33 p.n. Monday. The dive team responded and was able to pull the car out by about 11 p.m. The driver of the 2010 black Jaguar XKR convertible with a New York tag has not yet been located.

Police say the registered owner of the car is a 46-year-old man who was visiting family in the area. The man, an email from the police department stated, left to pick up food Monday night and did not return or respond to calls. Family members went out to look for him and came across the activity at the lake, the email said.
