Silver Alert Issued For St. Pete Man

The 81-year-old was last seen Monday morning along Fairfield Avenue South.

St. Petersburg, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking area residents for help locating a missing 81-year-old man.

According to the agency, Charlie Nichols was last seen around 10:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Fairfield Avenue South.

Nichols stands about 5-foot-5 and weighs an estimated 160 pounds, the police department wrote in an email to media. He has brown eyes and gray hair. He was wearing a light blue cap, gray shirt, blue pants and brown shoes when he was last seen.

Nichols was driving a 2001 Ford Windstar van with Florida tag No. 9198UH. The van has a front license plate that reads: “God is good, all the time.”

Nichols, police say, has Alzheimer’s disease. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the police department at 727-893-7780. The agency has issued a Silver Alert in its efforts to find Nichols.
