Skeletal Remains Found At War Veterans Memorial Park

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a grisly discovery made at War Veterans Memorial Park in unincorporated St. Petersburg Tuesday morning.

According to the agency, deputies were called out to the 9600 Bay Pine Blvd. park just before 11 a.m. after someone found skeletal remains.

“Detectives say that the skeletal remains are human, however, the identity and the gender of the deceased are not immediately clear,” the agency wrote in an email to media. “A death investigation is currently underway.”

No further details are available at this time.
