Skyway Bridge Open Again for High-Profile Vehicles

Update July 31, 1:30 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol has announced that Skyway travel is now open again to high-profile vehicles as wind speeds have subsided.

Motorists driving high profile vehicles may want to steer clear of the Skyway Bridge for the time being.

The Florida Highway Patrol announced just after 1 p.m. Friday the bridge is closed to high-profile vehicles due strong winds speeds. Gusts have been recorded up to 50 mph, Sgt. Steve Gaskins wrote in an email to media.

It is unclear how long the restrictions will remain in place.
