Sprouts Farmers Market Coming To South St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg's Skyway Marina District will welcome a new Sprouts Farmers Market, which should break ground by mid-2024, reports said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — South St. Petersburg is getting a new grocery store. Sprouts Farmers Market is opening in the Skyway Marina District, according to multiple reports.

The grocery store will anchor Skyway Village, a mixed-use development at 3201 24th Street S., Tampa Bay Business Journal reported.

The project is a redevelopment of the 34-acre Ceridian campus, St. Pete Catalyst said. The property was bought by Altis Cardinal, based in Coral Gables, for $40 million in an all-cash deal.
Altis unveiled plans for the 23,000-square-foot grocery store at a community event on Monday, reports said.

The company is working with WDG Architecture and civil engineering firm Stantec on the project.
The development could include about 92,000 square feet of commercial space, I Love the Burg reported.

“We anticipate breaking ground mid-2024 on both the Sprouts and the retail outparcel on that phase as well as one of the multifamily [buildings] with ground-floor retail,” Frank Guerra, principal of Altis Cardinal, told the Tampa Bay Business Journal. “We hope to finish the retail, including Sprouts, by mid-2025 and finish the apartment building with the ground-floor retail by the second quarter of 2026.”
