St. Pete Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Crash
Troopers say he rode into the path of an oncoming car.

A 74-year-old St. Petersburg man was seriously injured in a Sunday night crash along 54th Avenue North.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Abraham J. Shedrack was riding his bicycle west on 54th Avenue North around 9 p.m. in the center left turn late at the intersection of 66th Way North. Shedrack, troopers wrote in a report, pulled out of the turn lane and rode directly into the path of a 2013 Volkswagen driven by Jeffery Metcalf, 30, of St. Petersburg. The Volkswagen struck the rear of Shedrack’s bicycle.
Shedrack was taken to Bayfront Medical in serious condition. No one in the car was injured, troopers say.
