St. Pete Challenges Residents To Get Fit During Annual Run
Join the second annual Healthy St. Pete Fit City 5K and 1-Mile Fun Walk Saturday, April 7, in North Straub Park from 7:30 to 11 a.m.

PETERSBURG, FL – For those who have resolved to improve their health this year, here’s a chance to prove you mean it. Join the second annual Healthy St. Pete Fit City 5K and 1-Mile Fun Walk Saturday, April 7, in North Straub Park from 7:30 to 11 a.m.
This family-friendly wellness event features a chip-timed 5k, a one-mile fun walk, health and wellness vendors, fitness demonstrations and a kids' zone.
Individuals or teams may register online for either event through April 6.

The 5K registration fee is $17.50 and the fee for the one-mile walk is $7. On April 7, the 5K registration fee increases to $20. Those registered for the 5K by March 23 will receive an event T-shirt. Each participant will receive a commemorative finisher's medal for either the 5K or one-mile walk with a limit of one medal per participant.
Training for the Healthy St. Pete Fit City 5K kicks off this Saturday, Feb. 17, at Al Lang Park, 230 1st St. S.E., with one- and three-mile self-paced runs hosted by Deputy Mayor Dr. Kanika Tomalin, Kim Lehto of Healthy St. Pete and Ryan Jordan of St. Pete Run Fest. Participants will learn running basics from St. Pete Running Company, along with recovery steps and stretching exercises from Back 2 Normal. Participants should gather in the grassy area near the stadium along Bay Shore Boulevard.
