St. Pete Christmas Tree Disposal: Everything You Need To Know
Christmas tree disposal pick-up starts Jan. 14 or residents can drop them off at brush sites, the city of St. Petersburg said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Utility customers have two options for disposing of their Christmas trees in St. Petersburg.
Starting Jan. 14, residents can place their trees out for collection before 7 a.m. in the same location where their trash is usually collected, according to an email from the city.
The trees shouldn’t be placed inside trash or recycling containers or leaned against electrical poles, trash containers or water meters. The citywide collection could take up to four weeks.

Those who miss these collection opportunities can request a special pick-up after Feb. 16 by submitting a request to stpete.org/action or by calling the sanitation department during regular business hours at 727-893-7398.
When disposing of trees through the city, all trees must be free of all lights, ornaments, tree stands and other decorations. Lights and garlands can’t be recycled, and the city recommends reducing waste by reusing lights and ornaments or donating them.
The city will turn the collected trees into mulch, which will be available to residents at not cost at the brush sites.
