St. Pete City Hall Evacuation False Alarm

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg’s City Hall was evacuated Thursday morning for a brief time after a discovery in the council chambers gave authorities cause for concern.

A suspicious bag was found in the meeting area, prompting an evacuation of the building.

Just moments after announcing the evacuation, the St. Petersburg Police Department gave the all-clear. It seems the owner of the suspicious bag claimed and removed it.

The council was in session for its regular first Thursday of the month 8:30 a.m. meeting.
