St. Pete Felon Pleads Guilty To Carrying Ammunition: U.S. DOJ

A St. Petersburg man faces 15 years in prison for possessing ammunition as a previously convicted felon, U.S. Department of Justice said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg felon pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court of possessing ammunition as a convicted felon.

Dartis Cobb, 35, faces up to 15 years in federal prison, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release. He has also agreed to forfeit the ammunition related to the charge.

His sentencing date hasn’t been set yet.

A firearm and ammunition were found in Cobb’s vehicle during an Aug. 13 traffic stop, according to the DOJ.

As a previously convicted felon, he’s prohibited from possessing a gun or ammunition under federal law.
