St. Pete K9 Catches 2 Men Breaking Into Sanibel Island Home: Police
A St. Pete K9 team helping with Hurricane Ian relief efforts on Sanibel Island helped catch two suspects breaking into a home, police said.

SANIBEL ISLAND, FL — A K9 with the St. Petersburg Police Department caught two men breaking into a home, the agency tweeted Saturday morning.
King and his K9 Officer Jeremy Krzysiak were helping patrol the island, which was damaged by Hurricane Ian at the end of September, when they found the two suspects.
The suspects were in the area to tow damaged cars, but instead they broke into a home on the island, SPD said.

A group of St. Pete police officers have been in Southwest Florida assisting with hurricane relief efforts. In a Facebook post, the agency said these officers have been helping with checkpoints around Sanibel Island, as well as traffic and enforcement operations.
