St. Pete Man Killed in I-275 Motorcycle Crash

A 41-year-old St. Petersburg man is dead following an early morning motorcycle crash on Interstate 275 at the Roosevelt entrance ramp Thursday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 12:40 a.m. as Wesley Filson attempted to get on the southbound ramp at Roosevelt Boulevard. Filson failed to negotiate the right-hand curve and traveled into the median. Troopers say he over-corrected, causing his motorcycle to overturn.

Filson was ejected from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.
