St. Pete Man Killed in New Year's Eve Crash
The accident happened early Thursday evening.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL â A 31-year-old St. Petersburg man is dead following a New Yearâs Eve crash on 102nd Avenue North.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Steven Lee Clarke, 59, of Seminole was heading east on 102nd Avenue North just before 8 p.m. in a Lincoln MKX. At that time, a motorcycle driven by Matthew Deremer was heading west on 102nd Avenue North. As Deremer passed through the intersection with 98th Street, troopers say Clarke turned left, into the path of Deremerâs Suzuki.
Deremer, who was wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries and died at the crash scene, a highway patrol report said.

Clarke was later charged with DUI manslaughter and taken to the Pinellas County Jail. He was also cited for failure to yield right of way, the highway patrol report said.
