St. Pete Pedestrian Critically Injured By Hit-And-Run Driver
A pedestrian was critically injured Wednesday after being struck by a hit-and run driver in the 400 block of 34th Street North.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- A pedestrian was critically injured Wednesday after being struck by a hit-and run driver in the 400 block of 34th Street North.
According to St. Petersburg Police, an unidentified man was crossing the road at 11:38 p.m. when he was struck by a southbound 1997 Honda sedan, which fled the scene.
Police officers were in the vicinity of the crash when it occurred and pulled over the Honda, arresting the driver, Luis Gonzalez, 32. He was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injuries. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash.

The pedestrian was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he remains in critical but stable condition.
