St. Pete Police Officer Suspended
The officer was accused of showing up for work under the influence last November.

A St. Petersburg Police Officer accused of drinking on the job has been suspended.
The department’s Command Review Board met Monday to hear allegations levied against Officer Todd Laslo, who has worked for the agency since November 2010.
Laslo was accused of reporting for duty on Nov. 11, 2014, while under the influence of alcohol.

“The board determined that allegation was sustained and Officer Laslo was guilty of Conduct Unbecoming an Employee, and other related violations of Department and City policy,” an email to media from the department stated.
The review board’s members are Chief Anthony Holloway and Assistant Chiefs Melanie Bevan and James Previtera. The three served up an employee notice to Laslo, suspended him from duty for 160 hours and gave him a mandatory referral to the department’s employee assistance program. In addition, “Officer Laslo must report face-to-face with a supervisor upon checking in for his assigned shift for the next year,” Holloway wrote in a memorandum.
