St. Pete Police Say It's Not Easy Being Green
They're planning to roll out blue uniforms early next year.

St. Petersburg Police officers are trading in their green uniforms in favor of traditional navy blue.
The move is hoped to provide officers more camouflaging at night while also giving them a stronger appearance of authority, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The new uniforms are already being tested out, but a complete switchover isn’t expected until next year. The city estimates the cost to be about $281,000 for the change. That’s about a $160,000 increase over the normal uniform budget, the Times reports.
