St. Pete Veterans Day Events 2022: Boat Parade, Bike Ride, Ceremonies

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — If you’re looking to honor Veterans Day in the St. Petersburg area, there are a number of events scheduled — from ceremonies and presenters to bike rides, yoga and boat parades.

Veterans Day event at Admiral Farragut Academy Prep School

Admiral Farragut Academy Prep School hosts its annual Veterans Day event on Friday, 9 a.m., in DeSeta Hall.

Retired Lt. Gen. William Lennox will give the welcome, which will be followed with a formal pass and review parade on Al Ross Field.

There will also be remarks from guest speaker ADM Eric Olson, a retired commander of the U.S. Special Operations Commend and a four-star admiral Navy SEAL.

Veterans Day Beach Yoga

Veterans Day Beach Yoga will take place Friday, 9 a.m., at Archibald Beach Park, 15100 Gulf Blvd., Madeira Beach.

Madeira Beach Yoga hosts this all-level, one-hour yoga glass.

All veterans and active duty service members can attend for free by emailing info@MadeiraBeachYoga.com. Pre-registration and payment is required for all other students.

Veterans Day Bike Ride

This annual Veterans Day Bike Ride takes place Saturday at Fort DeSoto Park and offers three different distance options: 10, 32 and 55 miles.

It’s hosted by the Long Walk Home, Inc., which supports veterans as they make the transition from military life to civilian life.

Veterans Day Boat Parade

The American Legion Post 273 at 600 American Legion Drive in Madeira Beach hosts its annual Veterans Day Boat Parade on Saturday.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. Boats will begin the parade after the ceremony.

Bay Pines Veterans Day Ceremony

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd. in Bay Pines hosts its Veterans Day ceremony on Sunday, 11 a.m. The event was rescheduled to this date because of the potential impacts of Tropical Storm Nicole.

Retired Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Martin R. Steel is the guest speaker.

About 600 people are expected to attend.
