St. Pete Veterans Day Events: Bike Ride, Boat Parade, Ceremonies

A number of events honoring those who have served in the military take place on Veterans Day in St. Petersburg.

Veterans Day Bike Ride

A Veterans Day Bike Ride fundraiser takes place Saturday, 8 a.m., at Fort De Soto Park in Tierra Verde.

Proceeds from the ride benefit The Long Walk Home, which is organizing the event.

Veterans Day Ceremony

The city of St. Petersburg will host its 10th annual Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday, 9 a.m., in Williams Park at the World War Heroes Memorial.

Mayor Ken Welch will honor two local veterans at the event, Col. Lucie Marie Stagg, who retired from the U.S. Army, and senior airman Louis Williams, who retired from the U.S. Air Force.

Veterans Day Boat Parade

A Veterans Day Boat Parade takes place Saturday at American Legion Post 273 in Madeira Beach.

The Legion will be open to the public during the parade.

A ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. and will be followed by the parade.

Veterans Day Ceremony at Bay Pines

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System will host its Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday, 11 a.m. to noon.

Veterans Day in the Village Courtyard

Gulfport’s North End Taphouse & Kitchen will celebrate Veterans Day Saturday, 2 to 6 p.m., with live music, food and drinks.

The restaurant will feature After Work Beer from Bullfrog Creek Brewing Co. a veteran-owned brewery in Valrico.

A portion of sales will be donated to Heaven on Earth for Veterans.
