St. Pete Votes: 2015 Election Results
Local voters have made their choices for city council known. They've also approved several referendums.

St. Petersburg voters have made their voices heard by casting their ballots in the 2015 municipal election.
According to the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office, the unofficial results of the Nov. 3 election with 85 of 92 precincts reporting in are as follows:
- District 1 – Charlie Gerdes 16,006 votes, or 64%, to Monica M. Abbott’s 9,002 votes, or 36%.
- District 5 – Steve Kornell with 13,947 votes, or 55.92%, to Philip Garrett’s 10,992 votes, or 44.08%.
- District 7 – Lisa Wheeler-Brown with 14,698 votes, or 57.68%, to Winthrop “Will” Newton’s 10,786, or 42.32%.
There were also four referendums on the city’s Nov. 3 ballot. The results are as follows:

- No. 1 – To place restrictions on submerged lands near North Shore Park: 22,300 votes in favor versus 4,070 against.
- No. 2 – To amend the city charter to allow council district boundaries to fall outside precinct lines: 16,112 votes in favor to 9,759 votes against.
- No. 3 – To make it mandatory for city council candidates to live in their declared districts before, during, and if elected, after elections: 24,800 votes in favor versus 1,683 against
- Nov. 4 – To make it mandatory for mayoral candidates to live within the city before, during, and if elected, after elections: 18,859 votes in favor versus 7,421 votes against.
Results are considered unofficial until they are certified.
