St. Pete Woman Fatally Shot On 15th Avenue South

A St. Petersburg woman has died from a gunshot wound after she was discovered in a backyard in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue South.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- A St. Petersburg woman has died from a gunshot wound after she was discovered in a backyard in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue South shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.

Police were called after neighbors heard an altercation and then a gunshot. When police arrived, they found 27 year old woman Christina Veronica Rush. They performed CPR until she was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

Investigators believe Rush knew her attacker but no suspect is in custody at this time.
