St. Petersburg Free Clinic reschedules Hunger Free event for Friday, Oct. 21
Annual fundraising event rescheduled due to expected inclement weather
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Oct. 6, 2016) – St. Petersburg Free Clinic has rescheduled its annual Hunger Free event due to expected inclement weather from Hurricane Matthew on Friday, Oct. 7. Hunger Free will be held on Friday, Oct. 21.
Formerly called Soup’s On, Hunger Free raises awareness about the prevalence of hunger in the Tampa Bay community. One in four kids in Pinellas County is chronically hungry, and the funds raised during Hunger Free will provide meals for local children through the Pack-A-Sack program, which fills backpacks with foods to feed children through the weekend.
More than 500 community leaders, local executives, and community members are expected to attend Hunger Free, which is held at The St. Petersburg Coliseum, 535 4th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg. Public Defender Bob Dillinger will discuss hunger in our community, and a family who receives assistance through the Pack-A-Sack program will share how the program has helped their family.

Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food and personal hygiene items to donate to the Free Clinic. The organization will also present awards to volunteers and donors who have a positive impact on the Free Clinic and the people it serves over the past year.
The program is sold out. Contact Free Clinic director of annual giving Julie Bostick at (727) 821‑1200, ext. 154 or Julie.Bostick@StPetersburgFreeClinic.org about sponsorship of future events.
