St. Pete's $221 Million Budget: 2nd Hearing Set

The plan doesn't call for a tax increase.

St. Petersburg residents who want to have a say on the city’s proposed $221 million 2016 budget will get their chance Thursday.

The city council will hold a second public hearing on the budget at 6:30 p.m. in the council chamber, 175 5th St. N.

The budget doesn’t call for an increase in property tax rates, but it does lay out a number of proposed capital improvements. On the list of expenditures is money to replace the Fossil Park fire station, a raise for city employees and cash to help the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment area. The proposed salary increase for city employees is 3 percent.
