Steely Dan's 'Absolutely Normal' Tour Includes St. Pete Dates

Band to play two nights at Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater in October. Steely Dan also announces two new live albums.

ST. PETERSBURG —Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Steely Dan have announced dates for their 15-city "Absolutely Normal Tour '21," which includes a two-night stop in St. Petersburg. The band also announced the scheduled release of two live albums in September.

On Oct. 15 and 16, Steely Dan will play shows at St. Petersburg's Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater, 400 First St. S. According to the band, tickets for the tour, which is promoted by Live Nation, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster. UDiscoverMusic.com reports that presale opportunities take place from 10.m. through 10 p.m. on Thursday. More information is available on the band's website.

The tour, which includes 28 dates, kicks off with a four-night stand in Miami from Oct. 5 through Oct. 9. There also will be Florida stops in Orlando (Oct. 12 and 13) and Jacksonville (Oct. 19).

The multi-GRAMMY-winning jazz-rock band also announced Monday two albums will be released on Sept. 24, though each can be pre-ordered.

"Northeast Corridor: Steely Dan Live!" is the band's first live album in more than 25 years, according to a release. It was recorded across tour dates at New York City's Beacon Theatre, The Met Philadelphia and other venues. It can be pre-ordered online, and those who do pre-order will instantly receive a digital download of "Reeling In The Years."

Meanwhile, Steely Dan co-founder Donald Fagen also will release an album "The NIGHTFLY LIVE," which can be pre-ordered online. Those who pre-order will instantly receive a digital download of "I.G.Y."

According to the band, both albums will be released through UMe on CD and digital and be available on 180g-vinyl on October 1.
