Student Brought Gun To High School Campus: St. Pete Police
A 14-year-old Lakewood High School student was arrested for bringing a gun to campus in his backpack, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 14-year-old Lakewood High School student was arrested Wednesday for bringing a gun to campus in his backpack, St. Petersburg police wrote in a Facebook post.
An administrator spotted the gun in the ninth-grader’s bag and tried to detain the student, who dropped the backpack and ran off campus, police said.
The teen didn’t threaten anyone at the school with the weapon and didn’t brandish it.
