SunRunner Bus Involved In Crash Along 1st Ave. S. In St. Pete: Report
A SunRunner bus was involved in a crash along 1st Avenue S. near 49th Street in St. Petersburg on Tuesday morning, police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A SunRunner bus was involved in a crash Tuesday around 8 a.m. on 1st Avenue S. at 49th Street, St. Petersburg police told Patch.
It was "a minor incident" and St. Petersburg Fire Rescue wasn't called to the scene, police said.
A pictureshared by IONTB reported shows that an SUV collided with the front right of the bus.

The 10.3-mile bus rapid transit system travels back and forth between downtown St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach. The SunRunner launched in October, celebrating its six-month anniversary in April.

The bus system utilizes semi-dedicated lanes along its route. Only SunRunner buses and vehicles that are turning may use the lanes, which are paved with rust-red asphalt, painted with "BUS AND ← ONLY” and marked with signage, according to the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority website.
“The SunRunner’s bus lanes are easy to spot to avoid incorrect usage,” PSTA wrote.
