SWAT Team Serves Warrant on 'Nuisance House'

The St. Petersburg Police Department has received a number of complaints about drugs and prostitution at the home.

Residents at 232 35th St. N. had an early morning wake-up call courtesy of the St. Petersburg Police Department’s SWAT team.

The unit served a search warrant on the home at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday after receiving numerous complaints about drugs and prostitution at the address, an email from the department stated.

While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary reports are that 12 people have been detained so far. On its Facebook page, the department said officers found crack cocaine and cash inside the refrigerator.

Residents in the area are likely to notice the department’s command bus in the neighborhood as the scene remains active. Officers also plan on walking the neighborhood.
