AT&T Contributes $30,000 To Marine Program For High-Risk Teens
SailFuture supports Florida's highest-risk teenagers through a marine-focused workforce development program.

From SailFuture: As part of our philanthropic focus on advancing education, AT&T has contributed $30,000 to SailFuture in St. Petersburg to help the nonprofit expand its program.
SailFuture supports Florida’s highest-risk teenagers through a marine-focused workforce development program that combines technical training, life skills development and employer-matching. Youth will graduate with a high school diploma and begin a career in the maritime field. SailFuture is a child welfare agency that provides housing, 6th – 12th grade private education, workforce development, mental health, and behavior intervention services to teenage boys.
The teenage boys operate a 65-foot sailboat and navigate to cities affected by Hurricanes Michael, Irma and Maria, to perform community service projects. While operating the vessel, the teens will fulfill 1 of 6 crew positions: First Mate, Second Mate, Engineer, Navigator, Steward, and Chef. Students rotate through at least 2 positions during the 4-month program.
