ARLINGTON, TX — The Tampa Bay Rays never could command a lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series, losing 8-3 as the Dodgers powered the game in offense and defense.
Starting pitcher Tyler Glassnow pitched six walks, and by inning 4 the Dodgers scored the first runs of the game when Cody Bellinger hit a 2-run homer.
The Rays' Kevin Kiemaier hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, bringing the score 1-2.

Dodgers' Mookie Betts created a big inning for his team in the fifth with two steals and a run scored when Max Muncy grounded into a fielders choice to first.
A double-steal by the Dodgers occurred when Glasnow struck out Justin Turner, making this the first double steal in a World Series since the Giants vs. Red Sox 1912 World Series.

The fifth inning was a long one for the Rays as the Dodgers continued with powerful offense bringing the Dodgers' runs to 6.
Betts continued to be the Dodgers star in the sixth inning when he hit a home run.
While the Rays notched two runs in the seventh inning it wasn't enough.
An unusual double play squashed the hope of getting ahead for the Rays in the seventh when Mike Zunino lined into double play, pitcher to second and Brosseau doubled off second.
Game 2 is Wednesday on FOX at 8:08 p.m.
