Teen Dies After St. Pete Shooting

The 17-year-old was taken off life support Tuesday.

A St. Petersburg teenager shot in the head over the weekend has died from his injuries.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, La’menzo Burnett, 17, was taken off life support Tuesday morning. His body will be sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy, the agency reported.

The shooting took place around 7 p.m. July 4 at 2011 Queensboro Ave. S. Police have a 16-year-old in custody. The accused shooter turned himself into police Sunday night and was charged with manslaughter.
