Teen Fatally Shot, Chased By 3 Men Near St. Pete Gas Station: Report

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot Thursday night in St. Petersburg, authorities said.

The shooting took place just after 9 p.m., according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

Witnesses told WFTS that Zy’Kiquiro Lofton was chased for three other young men before being shot near the PURE gas station at the intersection of 9th Avenue South and 16th Street.

Lofton was brought to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

No one is in custody and no suspect information is available, the agency added.

A $5,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Pinellas for information about his murder.
