Teen Injured in Drive-By Shooting

A 14-year-old St. Petersburg boy was shot in the foot during a Tuesday afternoon drive-by shooting.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the incident occurred in the 4800 block of 12th Avenue South around 4:15 p.m. The boy was standing outside near his home when a blue SUV-type vehicle stopped on 48th Street, an email to media from the police department stated. Multiple shots were fired from inside the vehicle.

The boy, who is not being identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are not deemed serious, the email stated.
