A 15-year-old boy was shot and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early Wednesday morning in St. Petersburg, police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 15-year-old boy was shot early Wednesday morning in St. Petersburg, authorities said.

He arrived at a local hospital just before 7 a.m. with a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

The shooting happened in the road in the 2200 block of 17th Avenue S., investigators said.
