Teen Struck by Car Outside School
The accident happened outside of Northeast High School Wednesday morning.

A 14-year-old boy was injured when the bicycle he was riding Wednesday morning was struck by a car on the sidewalk in front of Northeast High School.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the accident happened around 6:45 a.m. on 54th Avenue North. The boy was headed east and was hit by a car exiting the school.
“The driver was exiting at very low speed, but the boy was knocked over,” the police department wrote in an email to media.

The boy was taken to All Children’s Hospital to be checked out. Police describe his injuries as not life threatening.
The driver of the car has been identified as a 16-year-old girl who also attends Northeast.

The names of both teenagers have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation, but 54th Avenue is open to traffic.
