Riverview Teens' Bodies Found in St. Pete Garage

The two teens found Monday morning in St. Peterburg have been identified.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the deaths of two Riverview teenagers whose bodies were found inside a garage Monday morning.

According to the agency, a 17-year-old boy’s mother found her son and his 14-year-old girlfriend dead around 8 a.m. When police responded to 2175 Corrine Court South, they found the two inside the family’s 2002 Mitsubishi SUV with the garage door closed.

“Both were unresponsive and fire rescue responded, pronouncing both victims deceased at the scene,” an email from the police department stated.

The mother told police her son left around 3 p.m. Sunday to pick up his girlfriend. When he didn’t return, she called his cellphone several times. Around 11 p.m. Sunday, the mother reported the two missing.

The garage the two were found in, police noted, is not attached to the family’s apartment.

The teens have been identified as Dorian Andres Gomez Poehlmann and Emily Rose Sabow, according to the police department. Both attended East Bay High School in Riverview.

Preliminary information indicates the two died from exhaust fume exposure, but the final determination will come from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

No further details are being released at this time.
