THC-Laced Treats Should Have Parents On Guard, Cops Say

St. Petersburg Police have seized a number of drug-laced treats recently, prompting a Tuesday warning.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is issuing a warning to Tampa Bay area parents after a Monday incident that sent several Boca Ciega High School students in Gulfport to the hospital following their consumption of marijuana-laced gummy treats.

“St. Petersburg Vice and Narcotics Division confiscated a number of THC-laced treats during an ongoing investigation,” the agency wrote in an email to media Tuesday, following the announcement of arrests of students at the Gulfport high school. “These are marshmallow/cereal type treats, gummies, and lollipops laced with high concentrations of THC.”

While the agency wouldn’t comment on its ongoing investigation, it did share a video that displays the laced treats. One of the police department’s undercover detectives narrates that video.
