TQC STANDINGS SHAPING UP AS A "PHOTO FINISH"
Horse racing terms might be the best way to describe what is going on in softball at North Shore Park. A photo finish is definitely in the making as "Win, Place and Show" are up for grabs with only three games remaining. The IntraClub competition for the 21-22 pennant concludes March 31.
Action at the North Shore Park on March 15 produced no drama as the 'Kits' built on a 5-0 lead at the end of four innings and closed with eleven runs over the final three innings for a 16-7 win over the Kats.

The only offense the 'Kats' could muster was a five-run fifth inning and two in the seventh to close with seven runs. The 'Kats' offense has produced seven runs or less for the third straight game. The loss dropped the 'Kats' into second place by one game, with three remaining in the Club championship race.
Team Captains Larry Mc Curdy 'Kits' (3/4, including a triple) and Walt Ewald 'Kats' (3/3 including a double) led their team's offense.

Second game action was much the same story. The team with an offense performing amid a five-game winning streak while producing 76 runs layed the mercy rule on the Kubs. The offense and defense were absent from the Kubs. Four quick "5" run innings produced twenty runs for the 'Kids' against three for the 'Kubs.' resulting in the 20-3 score.
