Traffic Alert: Work on 38th Avenue North Begins

Motorists will run into lane restrictions over the next few days.

The city of St. Petersburg is warning motorists that travel along 38th Avenue North between First and Fourth streets might be touch-and-go over the next few days.

Resurfacing work has begun on the roadway, the city advised in an email to media. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Friday.

A new traffic signal is also expected to go live at Third Street and 38th Avenue North on Monday.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation project meant to improve safety along the roadway.
