Videotaped Homeless Beatings Lead to Arrests

The arrests Friday are related to Shefights.net, a website that showed women beating homeless men. The men were paid to be in the films.

Detectives from the St. Petersburg Police Department have made an arrest Friday related to Shefights.net, which depicts women beating homeless men, who were paid to be in the videos.

At about 2:30 p.m. Friday, 59-year-old Jeffery Williams was arrested as he was arriving at an attorney's office at 695 Central Ave. According to police, he is charged with two counts of aggravated abuse of a disabled adult related to his involvement with Shefights.net.

Around midnight Friday Zuzu Vargo, 25, was arrested by Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies at her home at 559 54 St S. Police said she was also charged with two counts aggravated abuse of a disabled adult for beating a homeless man.

Investigators said two men were video recorded by Williams at his home while being by beaten by Vargo. Police said that Williams was responsible for the recruiting the two men for the Shefight.net production.

Both Williams and Vargo are being held on a $100,000 bond, police said.

According to detectives, today's charges are based on a yearlong investigation during which two male participants in Shefight.net were identified and subsequently determined to be mentally incapacitated or to have mental limitations that restrict their ability to perform normal activities of daily living, according to police.
