Unwritten Law Brings Hard Rock Show to the State

Unwritten Law, out of San Diego, CA, made a stop at the State Theater in St. Petersburg Thursday evening on its U.S. "Swan" tour, along with Authority Zero.

The California-based hard-rock group, Unwritten Law, made a stop at the State Theater in St. Petersburg Thursday evening, on its U.S. "Swan" tour, along with Authority Zero.

Authority Zero provided the opening sounds and were met with dedicated fans who immediately began to sing along to every word. A few songs into Authority Zero's performance, a gigantic circle mosh pit opened up in the crowd, and audience members began to hurl themselves into each other in a ritualistic dance.

It wasn't long before Unwritten Law burst on to the stage to blast through a set of punk classics and radio hits, as well as newer tracks off the "Swan" LP just released in March of this year.

During a break in Unwritten Law's show, lead singer Scott Russo remarked: "I love this place! It's been too long since we've been in Florida..I've missed you guys so much! I could feel the love when I walked in here!"

Unwritten Law started out as punk band in the early 1990s, in the San Diego scene, which also included bands like Blink 182, Rocket From The Crypt and Buck-O-Nine. The band gradually went toward a more mainstream rock sound that led to commercial success on the music charts.
