ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A vehicle drove through the original Fray’s Donut House location Sunday afternoon causing serious damage to the building.

The vehicle crashed into the shop at 5236 16th Street N. at 1:40 p.m., Yolanda Fernandez, spokesperson for St. Petersburg Police Department, told Patch.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash; no one inside the doughnut shop was injured, she said.

Police didn’t share the cause of the crash.

Fray’s has been open since 1993, according to its website. In addition to doughnuts, the shop also sells fresh-brewed coffee, pastries and breakfast sandwiches.

There are two other Fray’s locations in Pinellas County with different owners, one on 34th Street in St. Petersburg, the other in Pinellas Park.
