Video: Shoplifter Pulls Knife to Make Getaway

The hunt is on for a man St. Petersburg Police say walked into a store on Tuesday, helped himself to some items and then threatened the manager with a knife to make a getaway.

The incident happened at the Dollar General Store, 1041 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. The store’s surveillance video captured the man walking into the store, taking the items and putting them inside a red backpack.

When the man tried to leave the store, the antitheft alarms were triggered, police said.

The store’s manager attempted to stop him, but was threatened with a knife.
