District 7 is fortunate to have three dedicated and highly qualified candidates running for the District 7 County Commission Seat.
My wife probably said it best when looking at the Pinellas County Commission District 7 race when she said, “They are all good, but no one has a heart like Wengay.”

She has a good perspective since she was employed by the City of St. Petersburg while Wengay served as a St. Pete City Councilman.
I was also part of the St. Pete City Administration while Wengay served, and I never saw any council member work any harder to do the right thing and serve his constituency as Wengay.

I have followed Wengay's political career from the beginning, and one of the things that impressed me the most is his consistency. Even as he has grown as a public servant and a politician, his focus on his constituency and dedication core beliefs has never wavered.
Wengay has the endorsement of the Tampa Bay Times: Pinellas County Commission in the Democratic primary: Times editorial board recommends.
In times like these, District 7 needs a voice and a demeanor like Wengay’s. A voice that can get past the noise, get down to the issues, work with all of his fellow County Commission members and get things done.
Wengay deserves your vote and your support in the primary and the general election.
