What's Open, What's Closed On Labor Day?
Here's a list of what will be open and what will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – While you enjoy a labor-free Labor Day – with the exception of maybe tossing a couple of steaks on the grill – here’s a list of what will be open and what will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3.
Retail Stores
Never fear. You’ll be able to run to Publix, Walmart, Target, Fresh Market or Sprouts for that forgotten bottle of mustard on Labor Day. Most national retail chains will be open on Labor Day although hours may vary.
Pinellas County Government
Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of Labor Day.

County parks and the Florida Botanical Gardens will remain open on the holiday. Boat ramps and beach access areas will also be open; however, Parks and Conservation Resources administrative offices will be closed, and beach and boat ramp passes will not be available for sale.
The outdoor areas of the county’s preserves will be open, but the Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center and Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center will not be open. Both centers’ regular operating hours are Thursday - Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Heritage Village is always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; its regular hours are Wednesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.
The Solid Waste Disposal Facility will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, the Solid Waste Administration Building and Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3) will be closed.
All Human Services and Veterans Services offices will be closed.
The offices and adoption center at Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed.
All Pinellas County facilities will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, Sept 4.
City of St. Pete
Most St. Petersburg city facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, including Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, City Hall and Municipal Services Center downtown, libraries, recreation centers, eight neighborhood pools, Enoch Davis Center, Sunshine Center, Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center, Jamestown Apartments and Townhomes office, Coliseum, Mahaffey Theater, and Sunken Gardens’ business office.
These city facilities will be open to the public on Monday, Sept. 3:
* Three City Golf Courses (Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links, and Twin Brooks);
* Municipal beach concession stand (Treasure Island);
* Municipal Marina Ship’s Store;
* North Shore Aquatic Complex;
* Sanitation Department Brush Sites; and
* Sunken Gardens' attraction (business office closed Labor Day).
Trash And Recycling Collection
During the holiday week, Sept. 3 to 7, changes for trash and recycling pickup days for St. Petersburg residential customers are:
- Monday collections for garbage and recycling will be made on Tuesday.
- Tuesday collections will be Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday collections remain the same. Brush sites will be open on Sept. 3.

City of Clearwater
City of Clearwater offices, libraries and recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of Labor Day.
The city's Solid Waste Department will be working, and there will be no changes to the collection schedule.
For police or fire emergencies on Monday, dial 9-1-1 as usual.
For gas leaks, water line breaks or other non-police/fire emergencies, call the city's 24-hour emergency dispatch line at 727-462-6633.
City of Largo
City facilities including City Hall, recreation facilities, Largo Public Library and the Central Park Performing Arts Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 3. for Labor Day.
Residential garbage and recycling will not be collected on Monday, Sept, 3.
· Monday, Sept. 3 collection will be on Tuesday, Sept. 4
· Tuesday, Sept. 4 collection will be on Wednesday, Sept. 5
There will be no change to commercial collections on these days. City facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3.
City of Dunedin
All government offices will be closed Sept. 3 and there will be no garbage service.
City of Safety Harbor
City facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3. In addition to Monday's closures, the Safety Harbor Community Center will be closed Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2. The library will be closed Sunday, Sept. 2. Monday's garbage collection will happen as usual.
