Woman Bought $10M Winning Powerball Ticket In St. Pete: FL Lottery

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 55-year-old St. Petersburg woman claimed a $10 million prize from the Powerball with Double Play Draw game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.

Laura Barnes claimed her prize at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

The winning ticket matched all five white balls and the Powerball number from the Double Play drawing held July 6.

She purchased her winning Powerball ticket from the 7-Eleven at 5790 34th Street N. in St. Petersburg, Florida Lottery said.

Barnes is Florida’s second Powerball with Double Play top-prize winner, the agency added.

Double Play is an add-on feature that gives players the chance to win up to $10 million in an additional drawing held following each Powerball drawing, using the same numbers played on their Powerball ticket. Double Play tickets cost an additional $1 per play.
